August 2: 90s Kickback Concert @ Playhouse Square 7pm > 1220 Huron Rd
YungFly Entertainment presents the huge 90s Kickback concert! Performers include Next, Ginuwine, Case, 702, Htown, SHAI, Adina Howard & Michel’le. Celebrate the greatest decade with the greatest music all wrapped up in nostalgia and fun!
August 3: 2019 AIA Cleveland Sand Fesitval @ Edgewater Beach 8am > EW Beach Cleveland OH
It’s coarse and rough and gets everywhere, but it also makes for spectacular art! More than 50 teams are coming to Edgewater Beach to compete in the 5 annual summer festival. Come watch all these talented artists turn sand into brilliant sculptures and images.
August 4: Hofbrauhaus Cleveland Half Marathon, 10k & 5k @ Hofbrauhaus 6am > 1550 Chester Ave
The most FUN and FESTIVE race in Northeast Ohio! Every runner (21 & older) receives a BEER and a BRAT in addition to a custom shirt, unique finisher medals, age group awards in all 3 races, chip timed results, and Post Race Party featuring Live Music Inside Hofbrauhaus Cleveland and Outside On The Beer Garden Patio!
August 7: The Lion King Musical @ KeyBank State Theatre at Playhouse Square 7:30pm > 1501 Euclid Ave.
Were you expecting Timone to dress in drag and do the hula? No! It’s the musical performance of The Lion King, one of the most famous and popular musicals out in awhile. If you haven’t seen it, get out from under your pride rock and watch it!
August 10: Old Brooklyn PierogiFest @ Mary Queen of Peace Cleveland 3pm > 4423 Pearl Rd
Quick question… how many pierogies can you jam into your stomach and how fast? Pierogi fest features pierogis and Polish food plus games and activities for adults and kids. And let us not forget the Polka bands. Finally, the premier event is the pierogi eating contest… I will defeat you all.
August 10: Day Tour on Cleveland’s Lakefront Bikeway @ Cleveland 1:11pm > RSVP For Location
Explore Cleveland, take in the beautiful views, and get a fantastic exercise on this 33 mile cycle tour. You’ll put pedal to metal… or asphalt I guess. Biking is fun and healthy there are a million reasons to get out there and get riding!
August 17: Water Lantern Festival @ Voinovich Bicentennial Park 6pm > 800 E. 9 St
Feel the awe and wonder of thousands of paper lanterns dancing and reflecting off the water of Lake Erie on the 15 at the Water Lantern Festival. Partake in this tradition with everyone and admire the beauty and welcome summer the right way. Tickets are going fast so jump on this before you miss it!
August 17: 2019 Margarita Bar Crawl @ Dive Bar 4pm > 1214 W. 6th St
Margaritas taste better the more places you drink them and that’s just science. Join old friends and a bunch of new friends at 5+ venues for the Margarita Bar Crawl! Free stuff and decade themed parties from the 80s to the 2000s! Don’t miss it though because being salty is for margaritas, not people.
August 18: Rock HOF Half Marathon, Relay, 5k, & 10k @ Rock HOF 7am > 1100 Rock and Roll Blvd
Lose as much breath saying it as you would participating, it’s the 5th annual Rock HOF half-marathon, relay, 5k and 10k. Join in or watch others tackle Cleveland on foot. Guaranteed to end your summer with a blast and maybe some sore calves…
August 24: Cleveland Garlic Festival 2019 @ Shaker Square 12pm > Shaker Square
This festival is essential… Like you know, the smelly kind of essential. It’s the Garlic Festival in Cleveland bringing you the most delicious and odiferous festival this summer! Garlic laden food and a garlic laden good time. Smell ya later!
August 24: Cleveland Pickle Fest @ North Coast Harbor 12pm > 800 E. 9th St. Pier
There are a lot of festivals this summer celebrating a lot of different things. However, none is more paramount than Pickle Fest! FREE admission, pickle themed foods, pickle beer, pickle eating contest, pickle Ri- pickle everything. Top it with live music and pickle related activities, and you’ll find yourself in quite the pickle.
August 31: 2019 Cleveland National Air Show @ Cleveland National Airshow 9am > 1501 N. Marginal Rd
The Labor Day tradition of Cleveland continues with 3 days of aerial thrills, tricks, maneuvers, and other shows by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Watch gravity-defying tricks and hear the delayed roar of the engines of some of the coolest planes around!
